How do I make Platinum Iridium STM tips?

What are some easy samples to image with the STM?

I know that you have used an oscilloscope to plot z+y versus X. I don't understand this graph. How can you decipher what is happening in the topography of the sample by looking at this graph?

The integrator in my feedback loop is not working properly. It stays at it's saturation voltage no matter how the output of the error amplifier is. Will the microscope work if you take this out from the loop and just amplify the output?
